HUNTSVILLE, AL  |  April 5, 2022 – Corporate Office Properties Trust announced yesterday that Guidehouse would be added to the list of tenants at Huntsville’s Redstone Gateway development.

Guidehouse, a leading global provider of consulting services to the public sector and commercial clients, signed a 10,000 SF lease at the 8000 Rideout Road development. This office will primarily support clients from the Department of Defense, as well as other national security and federal law enforcement entities.

With over 12,000 employees and 50 locations globally, Guidehouse became the newest of impactful tenants at the Redstone Gateway. COPT, who manages the Redstone Gateway development tenants, announced that Guidehouse brought the development to right around 89% capacity.

MONTGOMERY, AL | March 29, 2022 – Jim Wilson & Associates, LLC (JWA) is pleased to announce the promotions of Ronald C. Brown to Executive Vice President and Alan Reeves to Vice President of Finance.

Mr.  Brown will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer for Jim Wilson & Associates and will be responsible for investment and asset management, accessing capital markets, investor relations and evaluating new business opportunities for JWA.  Mr. Brown has completed capital transactions in excess of $2 billion since joining JWA, including equity raises, debt originations, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.

Prior to joining JWA, Mr. Brown was in corporate development for The Weather Channel Companies and VP-Finance/Corporate Operations for a publicly traded internet consulting firm.  Mr. Brown began his career in real estate taxation and consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Accounting from Washington & Lee University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Reeves will oversee the financial planning and analysis for Jim Wilson & Associates and participates in the management operations of a number of JWA investments, most notably A&W Enterprises.  Alan joined JWA from BSR Trust where he was an Acquisitions and Development Analyst after beginning his career at TSYS (now Global Payments) in Atlanta, Georgia.  Alan received both his Bachelor of Science in Management and Masters of Business Administration from Troy University.

HUNTSVILLE, AL  |  March 11, 2022 – The FBI’s continuing growth in Huntsville has now topped more than $2.48 billion, U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby said Thursday. In an announcement from the retiring senator, Shelby lauded the growth at Redstone Arsenal after Congress approved spending bills for the 2022 fiscal year that included $570 million for FBI construction at Redstone Arsenal.

The package of spending bills has been sent to President Joe Biden for his signature. Shelby is vice chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which guides spending plans.

With Shelby’s announcement of additional funding for the FBI and the totality of investment for the bureau at Redstone eclipsing $2.48 billion, it’s a project that now exceeds the $2.3 billion invested in Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in Huntsville.

MONTGOMERY, AL | March 2, 2022 – JWA Ventures, LLC, an affiliate of Jim Wilson & Associates, LLC, recently closed on the sale of two neighborhood shopping centers anchored by Publix Super Markets (Publix).  These properties include The Shoppes at Ola Crossroads, at over 70,000 square feet located in McDonough, Georgia, and Tobesofkee Crossing located in Macon, Georgia, a 67,000 square foot shopping center.  These outstanding properties have over 19,000 square feet of shop space each in addition to the Publix Super Market stores, and both over ninety percent leased. The sale transactions took place in the first quarter of 2022.  Franklin Street Investment Services of Atlanta, Georgia brokered the transactions.

MONTGOMERY, AL | February 1, 2022 – The Alabama Port Authority board of directors approved this week a $2.042 million purchase of 272 acres in Montgomery, Ala., to construct an inland container intermodal transfer (ICTF) facility. The project will extend intermodal rail service from the Port Authority’s container intermodal terminal at the Port of Mobile in support of Alabama regional growth in manufacturing, retail, distribution, and agribusiness sectors.
