MONTGOMERY, AL | DEC 18, 2007–The Montgomery County Board of Education has approved the construction of a new elementary school within the New Park residential community. The James W. Wilson, Jr. Elementary School will be built on land donated by the Wilson family, developers of New Park. Approximately 15 acres between New Park Boulevard and Wilson Park Drive have been designated as land for the school site which is scheduled to open in August 2009. The school will be named in memory of the founder of Jim Wilson & Associates, the late Jim Wilson, Jr. New Park is a 1,400 acre development located off Ray Thorington Road. The residential community will be built in multi phases. The first phase will contain 184 single family home sites. Lots will be available for purchase in late spring 2008 and it is anticipated that the first house will be ready for occupancy by late summer of that year.
MONTGOMERY, AL | DEC 12, 2007–Jim Wilson & Associates, LLC (JWA) recently announced the appointment of Anita L. Carter to the position of Vice President of Residential Marketing and Management and named Mike Kenney to the position of project manager for New Park. Carter will be responsible for managing and marketing the company’s residential real estate development projects including New Park, a 1,400 acre residential community on Ray Thorington Road and Wynlakes, Montgomery’s premier residential development.
MONTGOMERY, AL | DEC 03, 2007—Montgomery, Ala. real estate developers Jim Wilson & Associates, LLC (JWA), and Helms Roark, Inc. (HR) announce plans to build a retail development, Gateway Towne Center on approximately 150 acres at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Interstate 20 in Moody, Ala. Phase I of the open-air center is anticipated to be approximately 400,000 square feet of retail but could top out at 1 million square feet, depending on demand.
SEATTLE, WA | NOV 30, 2007 — Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN), a leading fashion specialty retailer, announced it has signed a letter of intent with General Growth Properties and Jim Wilson & Associates, LLC to open a new Nordstrom store at Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham. The two-level Nordstrom will be approximately 143,000 square feet and will open in the former Macy’s location. Scheduled to open spring 2012, the new Nordstrom will be the retailer’s first Alabama store.
MONTGOMERY, AL | NOV 12, 2007 – Jim Wilson & Associates, developers of The Shoppes at River Crossing, announce that retailers Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor Loft and Gymboree will open stores in the 750,000 square-foot, open-air lifestyle center located at Interstate 75 and Riverside Drive. Coldwater Creek is a new retailer to Macon and the central Georgia area. Opening its fifth location in Georgia, Coldwater Creek, the Sandpoint, Idaho retailer, specializes in women’s apparel, jewelry, accessories and gifts.
MONTGOMERY, AL | OCT 24, 2008 – The Shoppes at River Crossing, a 750,000 square foot regional, open-air, lifestyle center has signed ladies apparel stores, J. Jill and Talbots. In addition to these retailers, Bath & Body Works, Claire’s, Sunglass Hut and Victoria’s Secret will open locations at the center, scheduled to grand open March 19, 2008. J. Jill is a multi channel specialty retailer of women’s apparel, shoes and accessories. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Talbots, Inc., J. Jill will open their fourth location in Georgia and the first store outside the Atlanta area at The Shoppes at River Crossing. Based in Quincy, Mass. J. Jill operates 239 stores in 40 states and distributes 25 separate catalogs with an annual circulation of 70 million.

NEW YORK, NY | SEP 18, 2007–Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest bookseller, announced it has signed a lease agreement to open a new Barnes & Noble bookstore in Macon, Georgia. The bookstore, expected to open in March 2008, will be located in The Shoppes at River Crossing at Riverside Drive (US Highway 23), Sheraton Drive and Wesleyan Drive. The day prior to the opening of the new store, the existing Barnes & Noble at 265 Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard in Macon will close. The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a café serving Starbucks coffee. Barnes & Noble’s bookselling innovations have established it as America’s top bookseller brand. For the fourth year in a row, the EquiTrend® Brand Study by Harris Interactive® named Barnes & Noble bookstores number one in overall brand equity, which is based on a brand’s strength in familiarity, quality, and purchase intent. The new store may want to look at incorporating a kiosk or multiple kiosks to better serve and deal with the customers.
MONTGOMERY, AL | AUG 16, 2007–Old Navy will open a 15,504 square foot store at the EastChase Market Center announced Will Wilson, President of Jim Wilson & Associates, developers of the center. Old Navy joins Bed, Bath & Beyond, Circuit City, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Michael’s, ULTA and Costco as tenants in the 513,688 square foot power center located on EastChase Parkway.
MONTGOMERY, AL | AUG 16, 2007–Bonefish Grill, the polished casual seafood restaurant that specializes in market fresh fish prepared to order, has committed to open a 5,500 square foot restaurant at The Shoppes at River Crossing located at Interstate 75 and Riverside Drive in Macon, Ga. The River Crossing site, the sixth Bonefish Grill location in Georgia and the first in central Georgia, is scheduled to open in March 2008.
