Mr. Wilson opened LEIGH MALL in Columbus, Mississippi, in February of 1973 with Sears, Rose’s and JCPenney as anchor tenants. JWA OPENS ITS FIRST PROPERTY PEACHTREE MALL was Jim Wilson & Associates’ first property – opening in Columbus, Georgia, on August 6, 1975 with Montgomery Ward & Gayfers as anchor tenants. SANTA ROSA MALL in Mary Esther, Florida, opened in March 1976 with Sears, JCPenney, and Gayfers as anchor tenants. VERO MALL in Vero Beach, Florida, opened in February 1978 with JCPenney, Uptons, and J. Byrons as anchor tenants. METROCENTER MALL in Jackson, Mississippi, opened in March 1978 with Sears, Dillards, Gayfers and McRae’s as anchor tenants. JIM WILSON, JR. nominated as President of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) in March of 1979. PONCE DE LEON Mall in St. Augustine, Florida, opened in March 1980 with JCPenney and Belk as anchor tenants. Acquired BIG 10 TIRES in September 1981. MARTIN SQUARE in Stuart, Florida, opened in October 1981 with Woolco and Beall’s as anchor tenants. In 1982 Jim Wilson & Associates renovated Montgomery’s 1897 UNION STATION. As a result of therenovation,Montgomery’sown historic Union Station was again the hub of the city’s downtown business and financial district. A National Historic Landmark, the train shed that accompanies the station was constructed with 19th century methods and materials used for the Eiffel Tower and Brooklyn Bridge. MERCADO SQUARE in San Antonio, Texas, opened in August 1983 with Montgomery Ward, Target and H.E. Butt Grocery Store as anchor tenants. Acquired EASTWOOD MALL in Birmingham, Alabama, in June 1984. RIVERCHASE GALLERIA in Birmingham, Alabama, opened in February 1986 with JCPenney, Parisian, McRae’s, Rich’s and Sears as anchor tenants. Macy’s opened one year later in 1987. Acquired DIVERSIFIED PRODUCTS(DP),asportsexercise equipment company, in 1987. The STERLING CENTRE office building opened in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1987.
